Kahagas, Champ Again

7/30/08

The Japanese Nightmare Kahagas, under the tutelage of his manager Vicious Vinnie Scarpa, became the Southeastern Heavyweight Champion for a second time at Summer Heat 2008. The title was vacated by order of Coastal Championship Wrestling's president Gordo D. Pallone after title holder Dok Rivers defeated Dustin Rhodes for the CCW Heavyweight Championship. CCW bylaws state that the Heavyweight Champ cannot hold any other titles during his reign. A tournament was arranged with the top four contenders in the SEC rankings pairing off at Summer Showdown. Kahagas defeated Ram Man to advance and JT Flash scored an upset victory over Cash Money Alex G to face The Nightmare at Summer Heat.

Kahagas expected a cake walk when he squared off with the Bodyslam University graduate JT Flash, but JT had other ideas. He showed the poise and determination of a veteran as he made that 20 yard walk to the ring, then went after his opponent with both barrels blazing. The youngster put up a tremendous fight and had Kahagas on the ropes more than once. In the end though, experience won out and Kahagas was once again crowned Southeastern Heavyweight Champion.

What happened next was a despicable act, clearly orchestrated by Vicious Vinnie to send a message to future opponents. Kahagas with his hand already raised and the title already won, refused to release JT Flash from a devastating submission hold. Pablo Marquez, a trainer at Bodyslam University, had been watching his student's match and charged the ring with a chair in hand so that no permanent injury could occur to his friend and protégé. With the ring cleared and a fallen JT Flash beginning to stir, Pablo issued a challenge to the new champ in an effort to exact some revenge on behalf of his star pupil. The match was quickly signed and will take place at September Fallout in Coral Springs on September 6th. The Japanese Nightmare will defend the Southeastern Heavyweight Title against crowd favorite Pablo Marquez and it should be a real barn burner so we hope to see everyone at the matches!
