MVP Returns Home!
12/22/07
Hardcore Holiday 2007
was an amazing night of wrestling action capped off by a special
appearance of WWE Smackdown! Superstar and US Heavyweight Champion
MVP. MVP, formerly known as Antonio Banks, came home for one special
night to Coastal Championship Wrestling where he held the CCW
Heavyweight Title until his departure for WWE just over two years
ago. His mere presence thrilled the fans in attendance as he stood
in the ring with the US Title draped over his shoulder and talked
about his history with CCW and his journey to the top of the wrestling
world with WWE.
The festivities were interrupted
by CCW Commissioner Harry Venis. The former Mayor of Davie strolled
to the ring, accompanied by a chorus of boos from the fans, and
had with him a garbage can. Venis proceeded to spew all of the
usual nonsense one would expect to hear from a sleazy politician
then capped off his little speech by claiming he had a group of
foreign investors ready to buy out MVP's WWE contract so he could
come to work for him. He then made the mistake of insulting the
history of the US Title by inviting MVP to throw it in the garbage
can that he had brought to ringside.
Much to the delight of the fans,
MVP opted to hold on to his title belt and then proceeded to throw
Venis in the garbage can instead! The crowd then gave the champ
a much deserved standing ovation as he made his exit.
Coastal Championship Wrestling
would like to extend a huge thank you to MVP for being a part
of Hardcore Holiday and to World Wrestling Entertainment for allowing
him to do so.
